About

Jerry C. Spearman Jr.

I am a third generation Realtor and developer. For as long as I remember I have had an active interest in real estate and community development. Growing up in Summerville, South Carolina I remember sitting for hours at draftsman’s desk playing with the fascinating tools which they used to create streets sidewalks and parks. It still amazes me how all this was done without the aid of a single computer. From design to blue print everything was done manually with compass and slide rule. Just recently I pass down the tools my father a civil engineer used to practice his trade. I’m not sure my children even knew what they were much less appreciated them. I only hope one day they will be curious enough about them to realize how amazing the simple tools really were.

Some kids grow up in cities, some kids grow up on farms. I am truly a product of the suburbs. We literally were the first ones to live in the subdivisions my Dad built. Before the roads were paved before the street lights were in we were living in the neighborhood. As a child I had a keen awareness of how you could take pristine forest, tear and rip it into a muddy mess, sculpt the land, pave plant and build ultimately creating a lovely wooded neighborhood where generations of children would grow up. Not only did I get to observe the process but I got to participate as well. I have always taken great pride in the fact that I could drive a bulldozer long before I was ever allowed near a car.

It has been my great pleasure to be able to follow in my fathers footsteps having developed a number of successful neighborhoods on beautiful Lake Greenwood including Big Water Point , The Lake Club , Stoney Point and Charleston Place on Lake Greenwood . I am also the owner of Coldwell Banker Lake and Home and an active member of the South Carolina Realtor community.  I hope this blog will give you insite into the wonderful people and communities that make up Lake Greenwood.
